A Living Herbal School
Rooted in Spirit, Ancestors, and Earth
Where ancestral knowledge, plant medicine, and sacred practice come together — not as separate disciplines, but as one living system. For herbalists, healers, and seekers ready to go deeper.
Our Way
Herbalism is not a hobby. It is a remembering — a return to the intelligence of the body, the land, and the lineage. At The Rooted Wisdom, we teach the whole of it: the plants, the spirit, and the ancestral knowing that holds them together.
Choose Your Path
Every student arrives at a different door. We meet you where you are and walk forward together.

Foundation Course
A structured course in the language of plants — identification, energetics, preparation, and the ancestral frameworks that make herbalism whole. Practical, deep, and unhurried.
Year-Long Program
A full year of living herbalism with Dara and the school's teaching circle. For those who are ready to move from student to practitioner.
The Philosophy
Herbalism entered most of our lives through a door marked "wellness." But the deeper tradition is far older — and far more whole. It is a system of kinship with the plant world, maintained across cultures and centuries by people who understood that healing and spirit cannot be separated.
The Rooted Wisdom holds that lineage. We teach from the African diaspora, Indigenous traditions, and the living oral histories of communities who never forgot.

The Deep Work
A year of living, breathing herbalism with Dara Pressley and the school's teaching circle. This is not a course — it is a container for transformation. You will study plants, yes. But you will also study yourself, your lineage, and the world those plants came from.
The apprenticeship moves through the seasons, building knowledge the way nature builds it — in cycles, with rest and return.
"There is a place for everyone in this work — whether you're just picking up your first herb or you've been practicing for years and are ready to go deeper."
— Dara Pressley, The Sage
